Box Score vs. Catawba

MURFREESBORO - The women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Belmont-Abbey College this afternoon. The Crusaders out shot the Hawks thirty-two to two in the match with both goals coming in the second period.

Belmont-Abbey College opened the second period with a goal in the 47th minute. Erin Kolb scored an unassisted goal to the far post, just skirting by Chowan's keeper Kristy Brown. Kolb netted her second goal of the game when she beat the Chowan defense in the 57th minute to put her team up 2-0. The Crusaders went on to win with a final score of 2-0 all the while holding the homestanding Hawks to two shots in the match.

Brown (pictured above) tallied 17 saves in the match while Erin Jackson and Meredith McCarthy got off the Hawks two shots. The Hawks will travel to Mount Olive College on Wednesday in their next match. They return home next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when Coker College comes to town.
