Box Scores vs. Mars Hill

SALISBURY, NC - Chowan's Jaleel Nelson scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds en route to a 74-61 win over Mars Hill College in the Walt Baker Classic hosted by Catawba College. Nelson also dished out six assists and had five steals in the Hawk's third victory of the season. Three of Nelson's teammates also scored in double-figures in the game.

After trailing 35-29 at halftime, the Hawks came out in the second period to outscore Mars Hill and take the victory. The Hawks won the battle of the boards 47 to 42 while also hitting 48% of their shots taken from the field. Sophomore Chris Kenon came off the bench to score 16 points, making 4-5 from three-point land. Charles Rhodes scored 13 points while Layth Mansour chipped in 10 points down low.

The Hawks improve to 3-3 overall after splitting games at the Walt Baker Classic. Chowan will travel to St. Andrews College on Wednesday in their next match up. They will return to the Helms Center on December 13th to host perennial basketball powerhouse Mount Olive College. Tip off for that game is set for 7:30pm.
