Football Falls at Presbyterian

CLINTON, SC - Playing their second DI-AA team of the season, the Hawks fell at Presbyterian College with a final score of 62-10 this afternoon. Today's loss drops the Hawks to 1-9 on the season with one game remaining on the schedule. The now 6-4 Blue Hose amassed 654 yards of offense in the game while creating five Hawks turnovers and holding them to 252 yards of total offense on the day.

The Hawks saw their third 100-yard rusher of the season as senior Jake Thorne ran for 103 yards on 21 touches. Quarterback Josh Floyd ran for 55 yards and one touchdown while also throwing for 53 yards on 10 of 16 completions. Kicker Cory Cline made good on a 22-yard field goal to give the Hawks their 10 points in the game. Receiver James Fox had 7 catches for 48 yards to lead the receivers core. Leon Eason had 10 tackles to lead the defense while Gabe White and Mickey Jenkins had eight and six tackles respectively.

The Hawks have just one game remaining on their 2007 schedule. They will play in the 52nd Annual Oyster Bowl at Newport News Apprentice School next Saturday. Kick off is slated for 1:00pm.
