ETTRICK, VA - Aaron Scott poured in 23 points to help propel his team to a 76-73 win on the road against Virginia State University. The Hawks, who trailed 38-37 at the half, continued to stay hot from the floor as they shot 54% from the floor and 56% from beyond the three-point arch.
Chowan entered tonight's game at 1-2 and evened their overall record at 2-2 after the three-point win. Virginia State however falls to 1-3 on the season.
Scott hit 10-17 shots from the floor, including 3-4 from three-point land. He also dished out five assists and had three steals in the dramatic road win. Layth Mansour joined Scott in double-figures as he put up 18 points and six rebounds, four of which were offensive. Freshman Charles Rhodes came off the bench to score 11 points in the game.
The Hawks will hit the hardcourt next at the Catawba College Classic on November 30th. They are slated to play host-team Catawba College on Friday night at 8:00pm and then Mars Hills College on Saturday at 2:00pm.
