Brown Keeps UMW Out of Net, But Hawks Tie

Kristy Brown had 15 saves in Saturday's tie with UMW

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Freshman keeper Kristy Brown did a lot of work in Saturday's double overtime tie at the University of Mary Washington. The Chesapeake native had 15 saves in 110 minutes of play after facing 37 shots.

The Hawks spent most of the match playing defense as they got off just one shot in the match. Casey Driver accounted for the lone shot, which was on goal and happended in the second period. Brown and the Hawks defense faced 11 shots in the two overtime period with Brown getting five saves in that time.

The Hawks moved to 5-8-4 on the year after the tie while UMW moved to 8-3-3 on the year. The Hawks have just one regular season match remaining on their schedule with Palm Beach Atlantic coming to town for a 4:00pm match on Thursday, October 25th.
