MURFREESBORO - The men's soccer team dropped their third game of the season after falling to Mount Olive College 9-1 this afternoon at home. The Hawks got off 8 shots in the match compared to the 33 that the Trojans collected.
Trailing 2-0, Chowan's Korey Kamppi scored an unassisted goal on a breakaway in the 13th minute to cut the Trojan lead to 2-1. Mount Olive went on to score two more goals before the half to take a 4-1 lead. Mount Olive outlasted Chowan in the second period, scoring five unanswered goals in the second period to take the 9-1 win over the home standing Hawks.
Chowan falls to 0-3 on the season while Mount Olive moves to 2-2 overall. Chowan will travel to Barton College next Tuesday for a 4:00pm match.
