Women's Soccer on a Roll, Freshman Ashley Bradford Scores 7th goal in 3 Games

ASHLAND, VA - The women's soccer team moved to 3-2 on the season after beating Randolph-Macon College 5-1 this afternoon. Today's win marks the third consecutive win for the Hawks. The win streak started with a 5-1 win over Coker College on Friday and a 10-0 blasting of Peace College on Saturday. 

Freshman Erin Jackson started the scoring for Chowan as she netted an unassisted goal in the 5th minute of the match. Stephanie Montague made good on a Katie Perkins cross to get ahead 2-0 over the Yellow Jackets in the 28th minute. Just before the half Randolph-Macon cut the Hawks lead to 2-1 when Lizzy Spiero scored on a Jen Baird assist. It was all Hawks in the second half as Montague gave her team a 3-1 lead in the 47th minute on an assist from Ashley Bradford. Bradford iced the game for the Hawks with goals at the 57:29 and 71:04 marks. Bradford has scored 7 times and collected 6 assists through five games this season. She set a new single game record for points with 12 after scoring a hat trick and 2 assists in Saturdays win over Peace College.

The Hawks travel to NC Wesleyan on Wednesday for a 3:00pm match.
