WILSON, NC - The men's soccer team fell to 0-4 on the year after dropping a road match 4-0 to Barton College this evening. Barton collected 14 team shots in the game while holding the visiting Hawks to just 2 shots in the game, both of which came in the second period of play.
Barton got ahead early in the match, scoring at the 3:55 mark of the first period. They two teams played each other tough through the first period but Barton took at 1-0 edge over the Hawks into the halftime period. The Bulldogs went on to score three unanswered goals in the 49th, 57th, and 64th minutes to take the 4-0 win over Chowan.
Josh Whitehurst and Brandon Payne got off the Hawks two shots in the match. Josh Cenci started in goal for Chowan, allowing 4 goals while getting 10 saves.
Chowan will host Randolph-Macon College at 2:00pm on Saturday for their next match.
