NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Hawks wrapped up their regular season with a 37-0 loss to Newport News Apprentice. The Builders, who moved to 7-3 after the game, amassed 384 yards of offense while holding the visiting Hawks to 127 yards of offense.
After suffering injuries to their top two quarterbacks in the past three weeks, Chowan sophomore Corey DeSteunder started under center today. DeSteunder completed 5 passes for 40 yards while also running for 40 yards.
DeAngelo Goffingan led the defense with 10 tackles, 8 of which were solo. Shatae McEachin collected 9 tackles, all unassisted in the loss.
Chowan wrapped up the season with today's Oyster Bowl loss at 0-10, their second no-win season in four-year history.
