MURFREESBORO - The University of Mary Washington gave Chowan their first home loss since August 28th after beating the Hawks 2-0 this afternoon. Chowan, who came into the game averaging just over 17 shots per outing, was held to just 9 shots on the day while UMW had 21 total shots.
The Eagles scored their first of their two goals in the 19th minute of the match and took a 1-0 lead into the half. The Hawks had several breakaways in the second period but couldn't capitalize. UMW added their second goal in the 79th minute of the match to take the 2-0 win.
Tiffany Lee started in goal getting 11 saves. The Hawks will take the weekend off before heading into the match on Monday at Guilford College.
Today's match marked the Hawks final home match of the season.
