LAURINBURG, NC– First year Head Coach Georgina Donnelly debuts with a win in the season opener. The women's program coming off a third place finish in the NCCAA National Championships earned a 2-0 victory at St. Andrews College this afternoon.

Senior Lisa Knieriemen (Chester, VA) scored the eventual game-winning goal assisted by sophomore Stephanie Montague (Virginia Beach, VA) for the Lady Braves at the 33:31 mark of the first half. Sophomore Meredith Krause (Stafford, VA) provided an insurance goal for Chowan by punching in a loose rebound off the Knights goalkeeper in the 78th minute. The Brave move to 1-0 on the season while the Knights fall to 0-1.

The Braves are back in action on Wednesday, August 31st at Coker College with game time slated for 6:00pm.
