About Hawks Athletic Center Fitness Center
In 2016, the former weight room for student-athlete training and rehabilitation was converted from a dark and drab facility to a state-of-the art training facility for Chowan’s athletic teams. The room features 2,600 square feet of high quality training equipment including five professional-style power racks, various free weights, and system training apparatuses. The room is outfitted with five cardio machines along with various other training modalities to ensure optimum game-readiness for Chowan’s student-athletes.
The center also houses a multi-purpose turf room and a strength room featuring tractor tires, strength ropes, and sledgehammers. All student-athletes will have the opportunity to work with a nationally certified strength and conditioning coach during their time on a Chowan athletic team. In addition, the certified sports medicine team does a variety of rehabilitation exercises in the room.
