About Bynum Brown Aquatic Center
On September 10, 2015, Chowan University reopened its doors to the pool after 13 years. With a blue ribbon cutting ceremony, the Bynum Brown Aquatic Center was officially opened and gave birth the Chowan's first-ever swim team. The Bynum Brown Aquatic Center is home to Chowan University's men's and women's swim teams. Both teams host opponents for home meets at the center. It boasts a locker room for each varsity team with direct pool deck access. with plenty of storage for training apparatuses and pool equipment, the center also has two coaches offices directly off the pool deck.

The Aquatic Center was built with large windows to provide plenty of natural light and warmth during the winter months. The pool itself is 25 meters in length and is six lanes in width. Around the pool you will find a Rubaroc deck covering for a soft cushion and slip resistant surface. The pool is equipped with a Colorado Timing System to ensure finish accuracy. The Hawks swim teams have hosted dual, double-duals, and tri-meets in the aquatic center. Spectator seating is located on the perimeter of the pool deck where fans have the opportunity for a close up experience with all the competitive action in the pool.
