Chris White enters his fourth season at the helm of the Hawks women’s soccer program.

During the 2017 season, White and staff produced the best season the program has seen with a 12-3-2 overall record.  Chowan finished second in their first season in Conference Carolinas with an 8-2-1 record in league play.  The Hawks made an appearance in the Conference Carolinas Semifinals.

The season would feature the program’s first-ever Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year in Carolina Lucci.  Lucci would add to those accolades with D2CCA All-American, D2CCA All-Southeast Region, and Conference Carolinas First Team selection.  Lucci finished the season with a DII program record 19 goals.  Lucci finished tied for fifth in the NCAA in goals and was the top freshman goal scorer in the country.

The defensive unit ranked 17th in the NCAA in goals against allowed with 0.568 allowing only 10 goals all season.

Olivia Borer (2nd), Sabrina Henderson (3rd), Mackenzie Imamura (3rd), Shannon Park (3rd), and Asia Fort (3rd) would grab All-Conference Carolinas nods.

Mackenzie Imamura would add a USCA Scholar All-Region selection.

In 2016, White improved the team’s wins by seven with an 8-6-2 overall record.  Rebekah Beal was named D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team as the leading scorer with 13 goals.

White took over the program in 2015 posting a 1-11-2 overall record.

Prior to coming to Chowan, White spent a season at Duke University as an assistant coach, working specifically with goalkeepers.  During his season with the Blue Devils, Duke finished the season with an 8-9-1 overall record lowing the goals against average by 0.11 from the previous season.

In 2013, White spent a season at the University of Miami as an assistant coach.  White helped the Hurricanes improve from a 5-11 record to a 9-8-1 record.

Before making the leap to the ACC, White spent two seasons (2011-2012) at Colgate as an assistant coach.  In 2012, White helped Colgate to an 11-6-4 overall record and an appearance in the Division I NCAA First Round after winning the Patriot League Tournament.

In his first season with the Raiders, White helped the team to a Patriot League Regular Season Title with an 11-6-5 overall record.

Following graduation, White played professional for Perth Italia, an Australian Soccer Club.  White received his master’s degree from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom in Environmental Science and Policy and received a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina in Ecology and Native Studies.

White is a 1996 graduate of Colgate University, where he was a four-year member of the Raiders’ men’s soccer team.  White earned All-Patriot League and NSCAA (now USCA) Regional All-American honors as a goalkeeper.  White received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology.

White has his USSF “C” License, NSCAA Premier Diploma and NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma.
