MURFREESBORO - The women's tennis team improved to 5-7 overall and 4-3 in the CIAA after beating Fayetteville State University 8-1 in court action this afternoon. Chowan swept all three doubles matches and took five out of six singles matches to cruise to the win . Today's match was the first of three straight home CIAA matches with Virginia State and Saint Augustine's coming to town for Friday and Saturday matches respectively. 

Fayetteville State's Shantana Donegans picked up the solo win for the Lady Broncos with an 8-5 decision over Chowan's Amanda Spaulding . Spaulding paired up with CU's Tara Lunney in a come from behind win in the #1  doubles match to help secure the doubles sweep.
