Golf Places Third at Apprentice School Spring Fling

SUFFOLK, VA - The golf team finished third out of four teams at the Apprentice School Spring Fling held at Sleepy Hole Country Club this afternoon. The Hawks tallied 380 team strokes to place third with Virginia Wesleyan College taking the top spot in the four-team tournament with 355 strokes.

VWC's Trae Krensinske got the low round of the day after turning in a 77 through 18 holes. Chowan's Josh Bryant finished with an 88 to lead the Hawks today while Cliff Forbes finished one shot behind him with an 89. James Pardo and Michael Edwards finished up in the third and fourth spots for the team with a 101 and 102 respectively.

The Apprentice School finished second while Southern Virginia placed last in the tournament. Chowan will play in the Hampton Inn-Barton College Intercollegiate Invitational which begins on Sunday, March 8th. Play will run three days with the final round being played on Tuesday, March 10th.
