LINCOLN, PA- The Chowan University volleyball team defeated Lincoln (PA) on Monday evening by a score of 25-21, 25-21, 25-8 in their second CIAA Northern Division match-up in two days.
The Hawks cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Lady Lions thanks to another stellar game from senior
Karina Monroe. Monroe amassed a team high 12 kills in the win followed by
Brianna Smith with nine kills.
Nikira Fults and
Monica Ruffin chipped in with eight kills apiece to secure the win.
Callie Armistead had 38 assists on Monday capping off a four day, six match road stretch for Chowan.
Chowan improves to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in CIAA play. The Lady Lions are winless in the 2012 season with an 0-3 overall record and 0-2 conference record. They look to earn their first win of the season this Saturday as they host Fayetteville State University as part of a pair of CIAA Round-Ups occuring this weekend.
The Hawks, as host of the other CIAA Round-Up, return to action on Saturday in Murfreesboro. They are set to play Livingstone on September 15th at 11:00am followed by Johnson C. Smith at 1:00pm. Chowan concludes CIAA Round-Up play on September 16th at 9:00am against Winston-Salem State University.
