Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FAIRMONT, WV - The Chowan University volleyball team dropped two matches to open the season at the Fairmont State University Falcon Fest this afternoon. The Hawks fell in straight sets to both West Liberty State University and Point Park University in first day play. Chowan will open Saturday's play with host team, Fairmont State University, at 10:00am and follow that up with a 2:00pm match with Concord University. 

Chowan fell with final set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 to West Liberty State University. Karina Monroe tallied a team-high nine kills and 13 blocks in the game. Callie Armistead had 23 assists in the match. 

In their late match the Hawks fell 25-20, 25-20, 25-16. Monroe collected 13 kills and Tiffany Chambers had 17 digs. 

Chowan (0-2) will finish up play tomorrow at the Falcon Fest and return home to host Saint Pauls College on Tuesday night in a 6:00pm CIAA match up.
