MURFREESBORO - Sophomore Justin Bagbey, a member of Chowan's baseball team, not only led his team in several offensive categories a year ago but he also led the nation in slugging percentage. For accomplishing such a feat the NCAA has awarded Bagbey with an official NCAA plaque for leading the category statisitcally for nearly the entire 2009 season. Bageby is only the second player in DII (2005) school history that has been recognized for the accomplishment. 

Bagbey along with his family, Director of Athletics, Dennis Helsel, and Head Baseball Coach, Aaron Carroll, will take part in a recognition ceremony that will happen Saturday, October 3rd. At halftime of the football game between the Hawks and the FSU Broncos, there will be a short ceremony honoring Bagbey's outstanding achievement from a year ago.
