PALM BEACH, FL - The softball team was tabbed the #3 seed for the upcoming NCCAA National Tournament being played later this week in Palm Beach, Florida. The Hawks, who enter the tournament at 30-21, won the NCCAA South Region Tournament two weeks ago and have been busy prepping for the program's second trip to the NCCAA National Tournament since 2005. They will open the tournament on Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm against #6 Indiana Wesleyan University.
Central Baptist College (AR) earned the top seed in the tournament and will represent the Central Region while host team Palm Beach Atlantic (30-18) picked up the #2 seed. Both Central Baptist and Palm Beach Atlantic earned first round byes. Spring Arbor University (MI) was named the #4 seed while Mid-Continent University (KY) is the #5 seeded team. Indiana Wesleyan University earned the #6 seed in the tournament and will face off against the Hawks on Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm.
If the Hawks win thier opening game they will move on in the winner bracket where #2 Palm Beach Atlantic will be waiting. That game will be played at 6:00pm on Thursday. If the Hawks drop their opening game to Indiana Wesleyan they fall to the loser bracket and will play at 2:00pm Friday afternoon.
