LOUISBURG - Freshman Cliff Forbes is tied for 19th place and eight strokes off the lead after day one at the Louisburg College Fusillade Challenge. The team sits in 9th place out of nine teams with 348 strokes. Louisburg is atop the leader board after turning in a 291 on the day. Forbes (at left) shot a first round 78 with a pair of 39's on the front and back nines at the Bull Creek Golf Club.
Ryan Perkins from Pitt Community College turned in the low round of the day with a 70. Behind Cliff Forbes for the Hawks is Josh Bryant who shot a first round 82. Michael Edwards sits in 45th place out of 51 golfers at 92 while David Brooks and James Pardo shot a 96 and a 98 respectively.
The Hawks will tee off this morning in the second round of the tournament at Bull Creek Golf Club.
