EMORY, VA - Chowan battled in yet another five game match in the third place game of the Emory and Henry College Invitational but lost to tournament host Emory and Henry 3-2.

Chowan dropped games one and two 30-26 and 32-30 but came back to win games three and four with scores of 30-21 and 30-18. Game five went to EHC as they won 15-8 to take third place in their own tournament.

Both Antoinette McCollough and Kristen Stroud had 18 kills in the five game match. Stacey Davis had 49 assists and seven service aces in the loss.

The Hawks took fourth place in the eight team tournament and will return home for their home season opener on Monday night against Elizabeth City State University. Match time is set for 6:00 p.m.
