Ricky Locklear attended Chowan College from 1972-1974. He earned Honorable Mention All-Conference and All-Star Team South for football.
After his two years at Chowan, Locklear transferred to Elon College on a football scholarship. Locklear was chosen to the Little All-American National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Team. He was also named to the Associated Press All-American Team. In 1977, he graduated from Elon College with a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and went on to teach for a few years.
Locklear now owns Ricky Locklear Construction INC. He resides in Texas with his wife, Iris.
