Dock Kelly, III attended Chowan College from 1991-1993. He wrestled for Coach Dave Maas. Kelly transferred to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where his career really took off. He was part of UNCG’s first wrestling squad and competed for the Spartans from 1993-1996.  In 1996 Dock qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships. He went 22-7 in 1996 and compiled a career 50-34 record during his three seasons at UNCG.

In 1997 Kelly received the Medal of Courage and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and in 2000 he was inducted in the NCAA Hall of Champions.

Kelly graduated from UNC-Greensboro with degrees in Geography and Communications. Kelly then became the wrestling coach at Anderson University in Anderson, SC.

Kelly resides in Anderson, South Carolina with his wife, Shakhan, and their son, Caleb.
