MURFREESBORO - Elizabeth City State University beat the Chowan University women's tennis team with a final match score of 8-1 on Thursday afternoon. Chowan's Kashae Beverly won the only match for her team on the singles side with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the #2 singles spot. The Hawks move to 8-11 on the year and 7-7 in the CIAA. Chowan is currently in 3rd place in the West Division behind Shaw and Johnson C. Smith. The women won their second match in a row after beating the Lady Falcons 9-0 while the men remain winless after dropping a 6-3 decision on the men's side. The women's team improves their overall record to 6-7 and 5-3 in CIAA play.
