Chowan's Kashae Beverly won the only match for her team on the singles side with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the #2 singles spot. The Hawks move to 8-11 on the year and 7-7 in the CIAA. Chowan is currently in 3rd place in the West Division behind Shaw and Johnson C. Smith. Smith swept Chowan's men's and women's tennis in CIAA court action this afternoon with final match scores of 9-0 and 9-0. The men's team remains winless after today's match at 0-9 overall and 0-6 in the CIAA. The women fall to 8-10 on the season and 7-6 in the CIAA after today's loss. The men will replay matches with Virginia State and Saint Pauls College from a week ago, which wiped their first wins of the season over SPC off their overall record. The men will make up their match with VSU tomorrow afternoon in Ettrick, Virginia. A date and time has not been set with Saint Pauls.
