MURFREESBORO - Chowan University's Talaya Lynch has another honor to add to her list of achievements in just one season with the Hawks women's basketball program after being named to the Women's Division II Basketball Bulletin's All-American Freshman Team. Lynch joins nine other freshman from small colleges around the country on the team. HAMPTON, VA- The 2010 CIAA Basketball All-Rookie Teams along with their respective Rookies of the Year have been announced as voted on by the CIAA Sports Information Directors’ Association.On the women’s side the 2010 CIAA Women’s Rookie of the Year is Talaya Lynch of Chowan University. Once named the CIAA Rookie of the Week Lynch, a native of Hampton, VA (Hampton HS), has made an immediate impact in the Hawks first year in the CIAA. She ranks second on her team in scoring at 11.3 points per outing, good for 16th overall in the conference. She has started all 23 games for CU this season and has led her team in scoring on 12 different occasions.
