HICKORY, N.C. – The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) has just released its 2010 All-State College Division Baseball Team. Catawba and Mount Olive, who both won their respective conference tournaments and qualified for the NCAA Division II Playoffs, led the way with three players each. In all, seven institutions were represented on the all-state squad with four student-athletes repeating from last year. MURFREESBORO - Sophomore Justin Bagbey has another honor to add to his growing list of athletic achievements this year after being named the NCCAA South Region Player of the Year for baseball. Bagbey was named this year's CIAA Baseball Player of the Year in April after turning in a solid sophomore season. MURFREESBORO - Chowan University's baseball team was eliminated from the 2010 NCCAA South Region baseball tournament in day two play at Hawkins Field today. After losing to North Greenville to open the tournament on Wednesday, the Hawks moved to the loser's bracket to face Truett-McConnell College in today's first game. The Hawks won 5-3 over the Bears to advance to play Emmanuel College in today's late game. MOUNT OLIVE, NC - The sixth ranked Mount Olive College Trojans handed Chowan two losses in a nonconference baseball doubleheader this afternoon. The Hawks fell with final game scores of 10-3 and 8-3 to move to 23-19-1 on the season. The #6 Trojans picked up their 40th win of the season after the doubleheader.
