FSU Leads CIAA Golf Round Up After First Round

Calvin Wyrick shot a 75 to lead CU today after round one

MERRY HILL, NC –  Fayetteville State University finished up with 303 team strokes to lead after day one play at the 2010 CIAA Golf Round up this afternoon at Scotch Hall Preserve Golf Club. All four top scoring players for the Broncos shot sub-80 rounds to get the top team score through first day play. Virginia State came in 18 strokes behind the Broncos at 324 for a second place day one finish and Chowan University sits in third place in the nine-team tournament with 330.

 

Today's low round was turned in by Livingstone College's Kenny Bethea who shot a 69.

Chowan's top round came from Calvin Wyrick who shot a 75. Cliff Forbes finished up with an 81 and Corey Garvey shot an 82. John Riddick finished up with a 92 to round out the top four scores for Chowan. 

The Hawks and the other eight CIAA schools will tee it up again tomorrow for the final round at 10:00am. All play is being hosted by the Scotch Hall Preserve Golf Club in Merry Hill, NC.
