The softball team at Chowan University has played an integral part in the upgraded facilities that they practice and play on. Solicitations for donations along with support from the athletic department over the past three years has allowed for upgrades to the batting cages, playing surfaces, installation of new fencing and capping, and the construction of a concession stand and press box. The infield playing surface has been upgraded with sport specific clay and sand while the outfield recently had new sod replaced in needed areas.
