The Helms Center was constructed in 1977 and is home to the men’s and women’s basketball programs as well as the volleyball program. The Helms Center seats 3,500 people and can convert into three full-size regulation basketball or volleyball courts. The gymnasium recently underwent large-scale restorations that included the painting and resurfacing of the main court, painting of the interior walls, new wall padding, and the addition of a modernized p.a. and sound system.

The building also has three racquetball courts, a large free-weight based weight room, and an Olympic size heated swimming pool, a renovated training room, and a sauna.

The Helms Center also serves as the main hub for the athletic department.
